Heard  was a chance to really play with visual story telling.  Richard Zajdlic, the writer, and I wanted to tell a story without any dialogue but still create a strong emotional journey for the characters.  Louise Brealey (Sherlock, A Discovery of Witches)  bought our lead, Ruth, to life.   Having no dialogue can be very exposing for an actor but Lou's courage and honesty as a performer allows the audience to really engage and empathise with Ruth even though she never says a word.
